Yeah, I know: “liberal intellectualism” sounds oxymoronic at best. But, have you ever wondered where, when or why “liberal intellectualism” in America began? Who started all of this nonsense in the first place? Did they have any idea what they were unleashing? What would they think if they came back and observed America’s left wing loons today? Perhaps a short review of the history of liberalism in America will help us understand the persistence, air of superiority, and overall irrational mindset of these strange creatures.
It all began in the Puritan commonwealth of 17th century New England in and around Boston. For the Puritans, the construction of a godly society was the first order of business. The state was not intended to be the enemy of liberty – but it most definitely would become society’s moral guard.
New England government therefore was charged with the creation of a “moral society.” Everything was to be its business: how much did a master pay his apprentices? Who celebrated Christmas? Who was cheating on his or her spouse? The duty of government was to make society live right; universities, churches, newspapers -they would all be the allies of government in the struggle for “good.”
Even after the alliance between church and state in New England was broken up for good, righteous New Englanders worked to make the government a moral force for the American people. By today’s standards, their earl causes look noble enough – the abolition of slavery and voting rights for women, for example.
Over the centuries, New England has changed its theology while remaining loyal to its righteous roots. Calvinist orthodoxy gave way to Unitarianism in the 18th century; Harvard officially became Unitarian in 1803, dropping its belief in the divinity of Jesus Christ. In the 19th century, intellectual New England hedged its bets, backing a range of “isms” from transcendentalism to a new evangelical form of Calvinism.
During the second half of the 20th century, the intellectual mind of New England became more secular than at any time in its history – but nothing has ever changed its deep belief that however defined, morality exists and it is the job of the state to enforce “true morals” and uphold “right thinking.”
“Political correctness” has been part of the “New England way” from the beginning. Victorian New Englanders pioneered feminist ideas – while enforcing rigid standards of political correctness that stifled American literature, restricted its range of subjects, and drove authors like Mark Twain to fits of rage and frustration. In the 19th century, Bostonian literary puritanism was so focused on sex that “Banned in Boston” was a label that helped sell books around the country. Today’s Puritans? They’re after “hate speech” and conservative talk radio. Not much has changed, has it?
There was never a doubt in the New England mind that the government was the chosen instrument of the “righteous” in its never-ending mission to create a “better world.” 17th century New England intellectuals wanted laws passed to force settlers to live close to the town center to ensure better social control. Allowing people to live their lives as they please when the New England mind knows are best? No way. The “righteous” must keep the general population in line, or social chaos will surely ensue. As is the case with the left today, the liberal mind of Victorian New England didn’t just believe this; it knew it. It’s way was the only way.
New Englanders lived in frustration during much of American history. Before the Civil War, the power of the slave-owning South frustrated Boston’s plan for national consolidation; after the war it was the power of the industrial tycoons and the national rush for growth that kept New England’s intellectuals on the sidelines of politics, whining and bloviating about the “decadence” of America.
Those Darn European Immigrants
In the early part of the 20th century, New England got a boost from an unexpected source. Millions of European immigrants who came to the United States after the Civil War brought with them a less individualistic, more socialistic outlook than that of previous generations of non-Bostonian Americans. They looked to the government to defend them against the greed of the robber barons much as liberals today look to trade unions and the government as well to protect them from employers and corporations.
Many non-New England Americans instinctively saw government, and especially the federal government, as a danger to liberty. This was not the view of Boston’s new allies. The social-justice ideas of the immigrants had much in common with traditional New England ideas about the need for a strong moral state. Out of this meeting of the “moral minds” came the wave of 20th century liberalism that reshaped American institutions and ideas for the next 100 years.
Blacks climbed aboard the liberal express beginning with FDR’s New Deal. Progressives seized the Civil Rights movement and programs like affirmative action to use the growing power of the federal government to put America on a “firmer moral footing” by breaking the power of racism once and for all.
The marriage between Boston and immigrant America was not an easy one. It wasn’t until the election of John F. Kennedy – a son of both Harvard and the old Irish political machine – that the two traditions finally fused. However, the bond between the blue bloods of New England and the blue collar workers of the industrial North and Midwest took longer to forge than it ultimately did to begin to dissolve.
Trouble in Liberal Paradise
As the children and grandchildren of northern immigrants moved to the suburbs and sent their kids to college, many of them began to gravitate away from the communal values their forbears brought from Europe, and embraced the more individualistic attitudes of non-New England America. “Reagan Democrats” began to believe that lower taxes might just be a better idea than bloated government programs after all. The Reagan Revolution had begun.
Today, the liberal alliance is mostly comprised of the elitist New England mindset and its heirs, part of the old ethnic world that remains alienated from Americans who have strong beliefs in individualism, most of the country’s Blacks, and a majority of its Hispanics.
For many Boston blue-bloods, Barack Obama’s 2008 election was such a high because it looked as if the days of Camelot might return. Barack Obama does for Blacks and blues what Kennedy did for the Irish and the Boston Brahmins; like JFK he is an outsider who bought into the New England worldview. The high school he attended in Hawaii was founded by New England missionaries; his Ivy League education at Columbia and Harvard Law further steeped him in the “values” of the New England mind. To have a charismatic Black politician sweep the nation with a campaign evoking the communitarian big state vision New England had long favored was both a vindication of core Boston values and a sign that more victories were sure to come.
The 2010 midterms set that optimism back a bit, but many analysts, especially liberal ones, point out that the big question is whether enough Hispanics will join the blue coalition to replace the continuing drift of exurban whites in the other direction. Another potential problem for liberalism is whether a further deterioration of the Democrats’ nanny state fiscal position will make the whole question moot.
If the liberal model falls apart under its own weight rather than being pulled down by its “enemies,” as Obama calls Republicans, where does American Liberalism then go? Into the dustbin of history along with Communism? We should be so fortunate.
In any case, we can’t expect blue thinking to just go away. Boston and its daughter cities of Greater New England (including Seattle, Portland and San Francisco) will be around for a long time to come. A righteous heritage, deeply woven into American life for more than 300 years, will not simply vanish. The New England way may go into political opposition, as it did during so much of the 19th century, but as an elitist force in American life, its anything but finished. Blue may go down, but unfortunately, don’t count it out.

Soros And His Marxist Puppet
Though he is pure vermin, to his credit, he never quits. Soros, the rat, tried very hard to get John Kerry elected. Of course, he failed. But Soros just got more determined. The MFA, which Soros is part of, along with a few other global thieves, lobbied Christopher Cox back in 2007 to make a few changes that would allow for the manipulation of the markets. One was to no longer adhere to the Uptick Rule, and the other was to go to the Market to Market accounting practices. Bottom, line, it became very easy to short sale without any worries of breaking any pesky rules.
With the game now rigged in Soro's favor, 10 trillion in honest, American retirement investments were stolen. Of course, it was right before the 08 election. Soros and his power and mony junkies were then able to get their puppet boy into the Oval Office. Since Barry has zero experience in Soro's field of expertise, he can easily be manipulated. All they have to do is tell him that they can help him "reshape" America in to his Marxict utopia, if they just follow their lead.
Chris Cox was replaced by fellow Marxist Mary Schapiro, and along with yet another Marxist, Timmy Geithner, Soros had two Market to Market supporters in powerful positions. Though there is a new version of the Uptick rule in place, the mighty MFA mafia made it clear that they still could rape American investors at will. On May 6th, 2010 they proved it. Huge drops in the market, which took place, after 2:30pm, which just happens to be after the deadline that allows the market to shut down when events like this take place. It was not bad luck, just a well timed message!
As for the TARP money being repaid to the taxpayer? Not a chance. The feds are placing the stolen, laundered money into a general account, to be used, or as I like to say, "re-stolen."
And all the while, Obama and his comrades a deep into reshaping our country, the one they so hate, into to their Marxist Utopia.

Colorado congressman wants ballots printed only in English
Kudos to Senator Mike Coffman for daring to go against the tyranny of political correctness in order to promote common sense. Apparently, he wants to have voter information, ballots, and registrations in English only. Now there’s a novel idea since being able to read and write basic English is required to be an American citizen. But, as usual, the PC nazi’s have to kill off half the rainforest in order to appease the laziness of the minority.
Do you realize how much paper and resources are wasted every year in order to print multilingual instructions and signs? I remember not too long ago, I bought a DIY cabinet. The manufacturers wasted FOUR pages of paper for an instruction that took one page in English because it was multilingual. That’s pathetic. If I move to another country, I would be respectful and intelligent enough to learn to read and write the language. If not, I don’t need to live in that society. The same goes for those who refuse to learn English here in America.

A parasite known as the "brain-eating amoeba" has claimed its second young American victim this month.
Christian Strickland, a 9-year-old from Henrico County in Virginia contracted an infection after visiting a fishing camp in his state. He died of meningitis on August 5.

Interim Police Chief David Faber presented Sgt. Sean Coady and Officer Doug Julien with the Life Saving Award for an incident that took place in May, in which they saved the life of Sgt. Douglas Godwin of the Oakland University Police Department.
Coady and Julien were participating in a firearms training session at the Detroit Sportsmen Congress in Shelby Township while members of the OUPD were conducting a similar training session at an adjacent range. That afternoon, Godwin suffered a cardiac arrest.

Emerson Drake Attempts To Whitewash Black Guy Comments
The other day I posted Emerson Drake’s racially motivated comments about officer Kari Abbey’s relatives. He described them as “intimidating” “body guards” and “black.” He is now trying to de-”race” his comments by some lame post at the Turlock Journal’s webpage.

Emerson Drake/aka truthseekers states;”At Kari Abbey’s most recent court hearing she arrived with what has become her usual entourage. One side of court room was filled with her husbands (self identified) relatives and the other a variety of Elias family, media, and court observers.
A long time Modesto attorney who was in the courtroom was interviewed after the hearing and his comments and impressions were aired on the show. Those were the comments others have taken out of context and ridiculous inflammatory statements have been made about.
As far as bodyguards are concerned, watch the video provided by the Modesto Bee. It shows a large man who was identified to us as a friend of Abbey’s husband. He leads the way out of the courtroom and down the hall. Also interesting to see is the woman who folds up an aluminium walker she “needed” on the way in but now carries to use to ward people off.
But don’t take my word for it see for yourself. Their exit is in the first few seconds of the video. Then maybe you’ll wonder why some here are pushing personal agendas when they know so very little about what’s going on. “

This guy, just like his pack-mate Emerson Drake, fancy themselves as community watchdogs. What they fail to tell you is that their behavior, often illegal, cost us money. Emerson’s illegal pot-grow operation, and Sabatino refusing to pay his fine.

A judge threw out the lawsuit and ordered Sabatino to pay the city $22,887 in attorney’s fees in 2008.
Sabatino was ordered to pay more fees after he appealed that decision, then withdrew the appeal. With accrued interest, he owes the city about $30,000, said City Attorney Susana Alcala Wood.

The problem our nation is having now is not between the president and the Republicans, it is between the president and the elected tea party representatives. A very high percentage of these representatives and their constituents believe that Obama is not an American, and-or Obama was elected illegally by voters who were either felons, illegal aliens or not registered to vote.
The tea party people want their country back. Talk to them. They are more than willing to tell you all the misconceptions, lies and half-truths to back up their beliefs. Through lies and fear the tea party has grown, and with financial help from the extreme right wing and the help of Fox News they have become a force. Like their forefathers in the south in 1861 who were willing to go to war and destroy the U.S. government over the issues of secession and the right to own property (slaves), the current tea party is willing to have the United States default, lose Social Security and Medicare, have the stock market crash, all because the tea party must prove to the American people that the White House is no place for an African American.

My response to the letter:
DC wanted to do and end around the constitution and control the states. General Lee knew what was going on. He detested slavery, but chose to fight for the his state of Virginia because he saw what was happening. Slavery was on its way out, but those who were in power, i.e., the bankers, before the Federal Reserve was created, used Lincoln to start the ball rolling. We are seeing the result of the civil war now. If the Confederate States would have defeated the Northern Aggressors, we would still be a rugged individualist nation, were people took care of themselves, and a man would be judged on his character and abilities, and not the color of his skin.
Even MLK understood this, he was a republican, and a pretty conservative one at that.

Update: A Modesto based internet blog site has reported that a pipe bomb was placed in the front yard of Rita's daughters home. The 'pipe bomb' was not active. Several blog based sites have outright said they think that Kari or a family member placed it the day before the bail hearing to 'scare' them. This lie has generated alot of outrage by Elias supporters. Is there anything these people will not say?

Justice for Innocent Sheriff's Detective Kari Abbey VOM writers are VOM Staff? They claim investigative reporting. To what extent? They believe therefore it is? Some of the things that are 'reported' by them are out right fantastical. Building onto a society of conspiracy-theory anit-law trusting peoples' distrust and low self esteem is how these people work. A fake bomb, (is a bomb how), a roid rage killing, and an attempt on the Elias daughter's life? The opinons are based on how Kari looks, with some harsh comments about her family members that are supporting her the same way the Elias family is supporting their view. If this site was truely investigative they would be asking the important questions and not making libel allegations. It's great to be rightous, but it is not great if you're not right. A lie is not right no matter how much you believe in it.

I saw on your website, John, that you posted a good entry about Carmen re-running. I think you called it "Re-Tread" which was quite appropo. I'll go ahead and wager a guess: Carmen comes in dead last, or gets about 10% of the vote in his 3-way race.
Better yet, let's see if Emerson even weighs in or does anything to help Carmen in his race. I think we can figure that one out... and if anyone can show me where Emerson and his Swamp website have ever contribute to someone's political victory, I'd like to see it.
Emerson's overstated sense of inflated ego trumps his awful taste in fashion.
Will be waiting to see how Emerson spins his worn out buddy's candidacy...

That is right! Get ready for the full force fury of The Boot! I have usually stuck to national, and international topics, but I am now going to focus on my new home town of Modesto, and some of the folks that are wasting tax payer dollars so they can satisfy their own personal needs.
One of these schmucks is Emerson Drake. That's right, the one who was renting a home im a peaceful neighborhood, and was illegally growing pot, placing all who lived there in grave danger. Here is the article that he loves so much.

POLICE FIND MARIJUANA OPERATION: A strong odor led narcotics investigators to northeast Modesto home where they discovered a large indoor marijuana growing operation that had produced about $160,000 worth of dope, Modesto police reported Thursday. Police arrested Emerson Drake, 55, at the home on the 3200 block of Canopy Court. He was booked on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales and theft of electricity, Lt. Chris Fuzie said. The Modesto police Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency received information about the strong marijuana odor in the area of Kee Lane and Canopy Court, just east of Roselle Avenue and south of Sylvan Avenue. Fuzie said the investigators checked and could smell the odor for about two blocks in all directions. Police served a search warrant Tuesday with assistance from the Stanislaus County sheriff's Special Team Investigating Narcotics and Gangs. Fuzie said the investigators found the marijuana growing in three bedrooms that contained 97 budding plants with an estimated street value of $100,000 along with about 18 pounds of packaged pot with an estimated street value of $60,000. He said authorities seized the marijuana and the growing equipment worth approximately $20,000. The rental property had been converted into a growing operation. Fuzie said the house contained little more than a bed. The property owner told police he had no idea what was going on in the house and said a property management company was renting the house for him, Fuzie said.

Me For President
I have been thinking about running for president. I just need about a gazzilion dollars! 1 minute after taking the oath of office: I open up all American land for natural resource exploration, and extraction by American companies only. All energies produced must stay in America. 2nd thing I do is give a five-year tax exemption to these companies, and any American companies that build refineries. 3rd thing I do is bring home all troops from every foreign base, and war theater, declare our southern border a war zone, and place 100,000 troops with orders that would allow for them to stop all who cross by any means necessary. 4th, I would close the federal reserve and go back to tying our currency to the “Gold Standard.” Lastly, any American caught and convicted of siding,financing, or taking part in any muslom activity to harm America, or Americans, will receive the death penalty; firing squad and it will be televised. I figure I would receive 20-40 million votes on my energy policy alone. Even tree hugging, bed wetting liberals hate high energy prices!

Lots of people seem to think what they eat and drink is their business. Some of them were watching recently as the Feds trucked away the entire inventory of a food co-op spedializing –until then–in raw foods. Raw foods aren’t processed or adulterated and these folk think they’re both healthier and safer than the mass of stuff that passes through factories before you get it. As a Christian, one must believe that their faith is the one true faith. If not, then they are not Christian and the Christian faith is false. This does not mean that we do not respect the right of others to practice their religion in peace. Radical Islam is not so much a religion, as it is a political tool. If you notice, Islam is allowed to be practiced here in the states, as long as it is non-violent, but in most all Islamic countries, the same is not true.

I have said this for a while now; If Mitt receives the GOP‘s nomination, it will prove that we, the thinking people, have no say in who are president is. It is a con game being played out by demo-pubs, and repub-locrats. It is my guess-o-mation that 20-35 percent of people are unable to see the big picture. Some may be to wrapped up in everyday life, just trying to earn a living, and feel they don’t need the burden of educating themselves on national events. Others, sorry to say, are just to ignorant, and or stupid to think on their own, so they watch a few sound bites from CNN, or MSNBC , and they do what they are told.
Meanwhile, our nation is gang-raped by those in power. They take turns building up their presidential puppet, while the other half tears them down. Then they conspire to create a “saviour” puppet into office to save us all. Prime example is Bush jr. and Obama. They two, in reality, are not that much different when it comes to growing the size of government, and spending money. Heck, it was Bush the Senior who spoke of a Thousand Points off Light, and a New World Order. Both these guys were precursors to Comrade Obama.
So now we have Mitt being labeled as the guy on Fox‘s O’Reilly Show. He stated tonight that Paul, Cain, Santorum have zero chance. What a shocker, these guys, especially Paul and Cain, are the most conservative, outside guys in the GOP’s race. So you think Fox is truly non-biased? Why do you think Beck left? His Federal Reserve and New World Order exposes got him bounced. It does not matter if you like Beck or not, he is getting to close to the root of our problem in this country, and around the world: The money men. Goldman?Sachs boys are everywhere. The Federal Reserve runs America.
So what is the answer? We as conservative Christians must turn out and vote, get involved, speak out, blog, and at some point, if necessary, fight to end the evil that has infected our nation. Look at northern Africa, France, and England, and now Philly. This is the result of unbridled liberalism, and their tactic of Class Warfare. Saul Alinsky ring a bell. The only difference is we Americans are well armed. The feds know this. Why do you think federal troops have been training for a domestic uprising? FEMA is prepared to place people in detention camps. The NWO folks know that once they control the conservative Christian population, they will win. Sleep on that thought Buckwheat!
