Weis said Soderberg, 43, was leaving work at the police facility at 61st Street and Racine Avenue to play in a volleyball game. He was an instructor at the police training academy but had been deployed to a special task force aimed at combating youth violence.
"This is the time of the day where officers breathe a sigh of relief. Their tour is over and now they get to be with their families and their friends," Weis said. "However because of the incomprehensible acts of a 24-year-old convicted felon, Officer Soderberg did not make it to that volleyball game. Officer Soderberg was killed by this vicious criminal," Weis said.
The 11-year police veteran was still in uniform in the facility's parking lot when Brewer approached him from behind and reached for the officer's weapon, according to police.
During a struggle, Brewer grabbed Soderberg's handgun and shot the officer, authorities said. Soderberg was shot three times--in the head, back, and face, said assistant state's attorney John Dillon, in the hearing before Ocasio. Brewer then crossed the street, weapon still in hand, and shot at Richard Mints, a contractor sitting on a nearby porch.
After Mints was shot, Brewer also shot at the police building Soderberg had left, Dillon said today.
Officers rushed to the scene and shot Brewer during an exchange of gunfire.

Organized by a coalition of proimmigrant groups, including Juntos and the New Sanctuary Movement, the standing-room-only meeting took place in the basement of Annunciation Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary on South 10th Street. It was conducted mostly in Spanish, with electronic headsets available to permit simultaneous translation into English.

Justice Not Being Served
Today the ACLJ was disappointed in the Supreme Court of the United State's decision involving the constitutional rights of religious organizations.
In a 5-4 ruling in Christian Legal Society v. Martinez, the high court upheld a California law school's denial of official recognition of a Christian student group - a group that refused, and rightly so, to allow non-Christians to become voting members or leaders.
The ACLJ filed an amicus brief with the Court in this case, representing numerous Christian campus organizations.
This is an extremely disappointing decision significantly damaging the constitutional rights of religious organizations. The majority of the Supreme Court missed the mark in understanding that it is fundamental to religious freedom that religious groups are free to define their own mission, select their own leaders, and determine their own membership criteria.
By permitting a discriminatory decision by the federal appeals court to stand, the Supreme Court decision represents, as Justice Alito correctly concluded in the dissent, ''a serious setback for freedom of expression in this country.'' And, we, like Justice Alito, hope this decision will be an aberration and not a shift in First Amendment jurisprudence.

Eric Balderas, a sophomore on a full scholarship to Harvard, was detained Monday while preparing to board a flight back to Boston to spend the summer conducting research at the university. He had been visiting his mother in San Antonio, where he grew up and was valedictorian of his high school class.

In none of the cases were charges ever pressed, but one of the students said she was offered $1,000 per month in exchange for her silence, and two staff members resigned from St. Hope to protest how the academy tried (in the words of one of them) to "intimidate the student*." And in the first instance, in the summer of 1995, Mr. Johnson at one point agreed to pay the girl $230,000, according to the Sacramento Bee, after protesting that he "didn't recall us being a hundred percent naked" during the incident.

Out With The Law Breakers, In With The Good Folks
Looks like illegal aliens in Arizona are leaving the state, because they know they are law breakers. It won't be long until law-abiding citizens relocate to Arizona along with businesses. Arizona is a prime example of what can be done when good people take control of their government!

These few protesters who are upset because a Mexican resident who was attempting to enter our country, illegally, was shot with a stun gun and died. A stun gun? Why? Mexico's border patrol uses real guns. And why no protest over the fact that illegal aliens, many who are Mexican citizens, have murdered innocent, law abiding, American citizens? Illegal wannabe Anastacio killed himself when he decided to break the law. The coroner almost got it right, it was suicide by border patrol! It is sad the dude died, but that is the risk that should be in the minds of all who want to come here illegally.

Ok jj, here is what I believe, and I had to post it here because the new rules do not allow for certain information to be posted.
I would not appear on The Morning Mayor Show for a couple of reasons I believe it would be a set up by Emerson Drake to try to provoke me into a physical confrontation. One that he would lose. A story would be fabricated to the police with the sole purpose of landing me in the clink. The other reason I will not participate on the show, is because I do not interact with felons; That is why Emerson Drake is, and those who refuse to pay their bills; That is what Carmen Sabatino is doing. Both these guys feel that they have been wronged and are out for revenge. I feel Emerson, and not Carmen, is more dangerous because he lies and because he is a felon. I have talked in person with him, and he comes across as a calm, pleasant, and honest guy. But after being the target of him on The Hive, I now know he is a sociopath and I would not be surprised if he resorted to violence for hire against those he feels have wronged him.
So this is why I would decline an offer to appear on the show.

Ex Baseball Pitcher Reveals Barry Hussein As A Liar
This stuff can't be made up! Barry, without his teleprompter, when asked by Rob Dibble, " who was your favorite White Sox player?" Sounds simple to most fans; name your players. In classic form, Barry never answered Dibble. He made reference to the Mets, Cubs, and Oakland A's. Then after countless "uh's" on "oh's" the train wreck that is the fraud came to a smoking heap of rubble. He also stated that he was growing up in Hawaii and never was in Chi-town during the time Dibble was making reference to Barry's supposed love affair with The Sox. Of course, his media whores swept right over this.

Gun Permits? It Is Called The Second Amendment
During his time in office, Mr. Christianson has mostly given the thumbs up to folks requesting a concealed weapons permit to business owners, and others who are able to show they may need a weapon for their own personal safety do to their career choice. The gentleman who is running against him, Mr. Rob Jackson, has the belief that any citizen who qualifies, and takes the required training, should obtain a permit. While I believe both these men are fine choices for the office, I would hope Adam would change his stance and allow citizens their constitutional right to carry a weapon. Good luck to both these men.

Where Is The Proof FBI?
If the charge of planning to kill a peace officer is true, these folks deserve to go to prison. But I would like to know if the weapons that were taken are illegal? And what laws says a private citizen can't teach themselves how to build a bomb? There is going to be more to this story than what is being told right now. This may be a distraction, or a set up in order to arrest law abiding citizens in the future. Time will tell.

I am so glad that my relatives who fought in WWII and Korea have passed on to a better place. The America they fought for is on the brink of death. Barry Hussein and his Marxist storm troopers puked all over the Constitution today, and unless Barry receives Jesus, or has a heart attack, he will sign the bill. If there are any true conservatives left in politics, they have a great case against this illegal take over of the health care system. I am sure FDR is smoking a victory heater in Hades; his dream, and every loyal, freedom loving American's nightmare is upon us. LBJ surely slapping high fives with the former socialist ruler of the US.
If this is allowed to become the law of the land, what will be next? I will say be prepared to have your guns taken. The Demon Doll Nans will be telling you how you will be allowed to protect your family; sans guns. Even though these weapons protect here daily. Say good by to talk radio. And I mean all talk radio. Special Order 40 Needs To Be Revoked
Not allowing the LAD police officers to ask for proof of citizenship is just another example of an organization caving to the PC goon squad. Maybe Sheriff Joe from Maricopa County should be the next LAPD's police chief? Identifying and deporting illegal aliens saves lives, money, and sends a message that America is a civil nation of laws, and law breakers will be arrested.

"It is extremely important to build relationships with all the communities of Los Angeles," Beck told the crowd. "That cannot be done when people are afraid to have legitimate contact with police because of their status."
First established three decades ago by then-Police Chief Daryl Gates, the order came under fire last year when a star high school football player, Jamiel Shaw II, was shot dead, allegedly by an illegal immigrant. Critics, who say the order endangers public safety by coddling law-breaking immigrants, have failed in their efforts to amend it in courts, on the ballot and through the Los Angeles City Council.
Althea Shaw, Jamiel's aunt who is pushing for a new law requiring police to check known gang members' immigration status upon arrest, said she was disappointed by Beck's decision.
